About Us

Our mission has always been simple: empower businesses and organizations with technology that strengthens their connection to the people they serve. We believe software should amplify growth, not extract profit, and that the right tools can transform how a community operates.

Our journey began on the docks of coastal North Carolina, where fishing charter captains struggled with outdated reservation systems—paper books that could be lost or damaged, or online platforms that prioritized vendor margins over captain success. They needed something built for their world: unpredictable cell coverage, early‑morning departures, last‑minute bookings, and the constant pressure to keep every day filled.

From those conversations, Mako Reservations was born.

Designed specifically for fishing charters, Mako Reservations provides a secure, cloud‑hosted reservation system that works day or night, even when captains are offshore and out of cell range. Customers can book instantly, captains receive real‑time text notifications, and marinas can assist with reservations without risking cancellations or double bookings. The interface is intentionally simple—optimized for iPhone and Android—and the system supports multiple reservation types, fixed or variable pricing, convenience fees, and automated balance reminders.

But the most important part is the philosophy behind it: the goal is to help charter businesses grow—not live off their hard work.

That same mindset guides our newest venture.

Today, we’re expanding our focus to support emergency services with a centralized platform for managing member training, certifications, and meeting attendance. Fire departments, EMS agencies, and rescue squads often rely on scattered spreadsheets, paper logs, or outdated software to track critical operational data. Our system brings everything into one place—streamlining compliance, improving readiness, and giving leadership a clear picture of team capability.

Whether we’re helping a captain fill their calendar or helping a fire chief track training hours, our purpose remains the same: Build technology that strengthens communities. Not by charging the highest margin, but by delivering tools that make real work easier, safer, and more efficient.
